Dennis Murphy

Dennis Murphy is president and chief executive officer of IU Health. With over 38,000 employees, 16 hospitals, and more than 300 clinical sites, IU Health is the largest integrated healthcare system in Indiana and one of the largest in the country.

Dennis joined IU Health in 2013 as chief operating officer and was named CEO in 2016. Under his leadership, IU Health has launched high-quality destination health programs, created community health initiatives to combat underlying impediments to health, and executed a care affordability strategy to control the cost of care.

Dennis has spent his career at academic health centers, with previous leadership positions at Northwestern Medicine, University of Chicago Medicine, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. A Chicago native, he holds a BA from University of Notre Dame and MHA from Duke University.
