John Beadle is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Aegis Ventures. In founding and leading Aegis Ventures, John continually identifies opportunities for healthcare innovation by proactively partnering with health systems, researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry experts. John’s highly collaborative approach ensures that every new venture is rooted in practical, high-impact solutions to improve patient outcomes, expand access to care, and enhance health system efficiency and performance.
John was the architect of the Aegis Digital Consortium, a collaboration of 11 leading health systems across the U.S. to develop and scale the next generation of healthtech companies to address healthcare’s most pressing challenges. Under John’s leadership, Aegis Ventures has launched 5 successful AI-powered companies that reimagine how healthcare is delivered. John serves on the board of directors for 4 portfolio companies (Hume AI, Optain Health, Ascertain, Caregentic) and as Board observer for the fifth (Avandra Imaging).
Before launching Aegis in 2020, John spent five years at APL Group, a global private investment firm, where he led an investment team focused on the development of new business lines on a global basis. While at APL, he spearheaded the firm’s strategy for a 1-gigawatt data center hub in southern Japan—now a flagship development positioned to meet the region’s surging demand for hyperscale AI compute. Previously, John worked in primary investments at John Laing Group and investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
He earned his BA from Harvard College, where he focused on the US business-government relationship, with an emphasis on health policy, and his MS in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar.
