Mark Michalski, MD, is a board-certified radiologist and a pioneer in applying artificial intelligence to healthcare, bringing over two decades of experience in healthcare, technology, and executive leadership. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Ascertain and as Chief Information Officer at Deerfield Management. In these dual roles, Dr. Michalski is focused on harnessing data-driven innovations to improve operational efficiency and patient care across the healthcare industry.

His career includes leadership positions in both industry and academia. At Amazon Web Services (AWS), Dr. Michalski served as the Worldwide Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences AI/ML business development, forging strategic partnerships to advance cloud-based machine learning solutions in healthcare. Prior to that, he was the founding Executive Director of the Center for Clinical Data Science at Mass General Brigham, where his team launched more than a dozen AI-driven clinical solutions and collaborated with companies like GE Healthcare, Nvidia, and Nuance to translate cutting-edge AI research into real-world medical practice.

Beyond his roles in large organizations, Dr. Michalski has been a leader in health-tech entrepreneurship. He served as President and Chief Medical Officer of Butterfly Network (a pioneer in point-of-care ultrasound imaging) and as Chief Medical Officer of Hyperfine Research (developer of the first portable MRI system). Earlier in his career, he also held strategic roles in healthcare initiatives at Google and Genentech, expanding his experience at the intersection of biotechnology and digital health.

Dr. Michalski’s medical training and education complement his technology leadership. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital as a Holman Fellow. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Cybernetics from the University of California, Los Angeles (graduating with multiple honors) and received his M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine.
